Account Manager - Chicago, IL USA
The Account Manager is responsible for executing strategic eAuctions, developing and strengthening relationships with clients, identifying and developing sourcing opportunities within client accounts, and delivering sourcing projects successfully and on time. The Account Manager relies on strategic and analytical sourcing methodologies to identify and achieve cost savings for client accounts. The Account Manager is expected to provide category expertise, relevant market knowledge, and industry-based best practices to support client accounts. Ability to assist in sales meetings with prospective clients is also necessary.
Qualified applicants must come from a purchasing and strategic sourcing background and have solid category and supply chain management experience. Minimum of 5 years industry experience, Bachelor’s Degree, and proficiency in MS Office Suite are required. A Certified Purchasing Manager designation is a plus. The ideal Account Manager is a self-starter and independent thinker, and is highly self-motivated. The candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment while juggling the tasks of managing client relationships and facilitating problem resolution. Strong attention to detail, presentation skills, and excellent oral and written communication are essential.
Between 50-75% travel is required for the role. This position offers a competitive base salary with a performance-based bonus.
