Aggregated eAuction Programme Launched for the UK Public Sector

LONDON, UK June 22, 2010 – Today TradingPartners, The eAuction People, announced dates in July for the UK Public Sector’s Aggregated eAuction Programme.  The Programme is being conducted in partnership with Buying Solutions, which is now part of the new UK Efficiency and Reform Group within the Cabinet Office.  The Aggregated eAuction Programme is designed to address the Coalition Government’s immediate requirements for the centralised procurement of commodity goods and services in a bid to drive down inefficiencies and waste.
During 2008 and 2009 TradingPartners worked with over 30 different UK Public Sector organisations to cut more than £57 million from £257 million of public spend across various categories.   More recently, £10.5 million was saved on IT Hardware via a single eAuction involving 40 organisations across local government, health and central government; demonstrating that collaborative eAuctions for the UK Public Sector are helping to deliver savings during the economic downturn.
UK Public Sector organisations now have the opportunity to participate in collaborative eAuction projects under the Programme by completing a registration form and submitting their requirements by 30 June 2010, for the July round of eAuctions.
Categories and dates for the July Aggregated eAuction Programme are:
Category              Date
Mobiles                26th July 2010
IT Hardware       28th July 2010
Stationery           29th July 2010
“We continue to experience exceptional savings results in the UK Public Sector. We’re confident that under the new Aggregated eAuction Programme, with a focus on collaboration across the various Public Sector organisations, we can deliver even more savings for the UK Government,”  said Richard Adams, UK Managing Partner. “With Buying Solutions as partners we have access to pre-qualified suppliers on their national framework agreement, effectively streamlining the process to achieve more in less time.”
Public Sector organisations may request more information about the Aggregated eAuction Programme by registering on the TradingPartners website.
