eAuction Site 8.1 Released With Firefox Compatibility
LONDON, UK May 27, 2010 – Today TradingPartners, the eAuction People, announced the launch of version 8.1 of their eAuction site. Updates in the latest release enable browser compatibility with Mozilla Firefox. Suppliers now have the choice of using either Internet Explorer or Firefox to access the site and participate in eAuctions. While the eAuction site has always been compatible with Internet Explorer, the newly expanded browser options make it easier for users to log in with either of the two prominent web browsers.
As of February 2010, Firefox holds nearly 25% of worldwide browser market share, compared to IE’s 62%. According to Mozilla.org, global market share for the Firefox browser has increased in recent years. Now 50% of enterprise PCs have Firefox installed, and 31% of users run both IE and Firefox.
“As more and more people are using Firefox as their browser of choice, we want to enhance our eAuction site to reflect that trend. It’s important to us that suppliers around the world find our site to be accessible and user-friendly,” said Natasha Kobrak, Head of Technology at TradingPartners.
eAuction site version 8.1 also features enhanced graphing capabilities. Data visualization tools are now supported for the Reverse Clock eAuction type. This enables buyers to have a comprehensive view of savings generated during the eAuction.
